I am proud to be pairing up with Lone Survivor Foundation and local equine trained specialists, Lorna and Amy. We will offer retreats to Combat Veterans, to service members who have experienced Military Sexual Trauma (MST) and to their families. These retreats will utilize the psycho-educational protocol set for forth by The Lone Survivor Foundation along with EAGALA Equine Assisted Learning Model. The combination of psycho educational groups, and ground activities with the horses provides a rich healing environment. These retreats are designed for our service members who are motivated to work on their combat stress, TBI, MST and Chronic Pain Issues, while also addressing the effects on relationships.
These programs will cost veterans and family members nothing.
Our first Bellingham retreat will be April 24-28, 2014. So don’t delay on filling out applications and spreading the word to others.
The first step is to go to LoneSurvivorFoundation.org and fill out the retreat application (be sure to mention you found out about this from Bridget Cantrell). Applicants will then be contacted and assessed for placement.
Yes, this is the same Lone Survivor foundation Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell started as a result of being the lone survivor of his SEAL Team (the movie has been out for a few weeks now).
